PARKROSE HARDWARE

SALVIA

Commonly called sage, salvia’s vibrant flowers draw pollinators all summer long. Fragrant leaves are a nod to its mint-family heritage. Usually a perennial, this sweet-smelling beauty returns year after year.

  • Blooms through summer
  • Deer & rabbit resistant
  • Annual, perennial; shrub, herb
  • Easy to grow in beds, borders or containers

SALVIA GROWING TIPS

Summer heat is no match for this flowerbed superhero. Allow salvia to dry out between shallow waterings of about a half-inch deep. Fertilize for flamboyant blooms. Snipping spent spikes will encourage more flowers. Midsummer blues: Salvia looking sad or overgrown? Remove a third of the plant.
