The 'Hole' Story.

saw in action

It was the 1920s, and car magnate Henry Ford wanted to streamline his process. Looking around the plant, Ford noticed even the strongest mechanics struggling with a heavy, cumbersome drill that required both hands to operate. That's when Ford tapped a young tool manufacturer to invent a portable one-handed drill. That manufacturer, A. H. Petersen of Milwaukee® Electric Tool Corp., succeeded.

Milwaukee's one-handed drill, the HOLE-SHOOTER™, became the industry's first small, lightweight power drill.

Since then, Milwaukee has invented iconic tools like the SAWZALL ® Recip Saw, the Magnum Hole-Shooter® and the Hole Hawg®.

In 2005, Milwaukee was the first company to develop Lithium-Ion power tools. Today, Milwaukee makes Nothing but HEAVY DUTY® and continues inventing the next generation of professional-grade power tools.
